Borys Tarasyuk: This is the First Time When the European Union Give a Clear Signal That Ukraine Can Apply for the EU Membership

Ambassador Borys Tarasyuk stated that the European Parliament Resolution of 25 February 2010 on the situation in Ukraine is very significant and has a positive value for Ukraine.


President of the People’s Movement of Ukraine (Rukh), Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on European integration Borys Tarasyuk stated that the European Parliament Resolution of 25 February 2010 on the situation in Ukraine is very significant and has a positive value for Ukraine.
Ambassador Tarasyuk marked that EP’s resolution is a “message” for the new-elected President and now all depends on how this “message” will be perceived.

B.Tarasyuk emphasized that the EU has given a clear signal that Ukraine could apply for the EU membership. Rukh’s President stressed that in this Resolution the European Parliament calls on the European Council to mandate the European Commission to revise the existing visa facilitation agreement in order to work on a roadmap to visa-free travel for Ukraine, including the intermediate objective of abolishing the existing visa fees.
